Eid Prayers
Feast Prayers:-
Feast in Arabic is called “Eid”
Muslims have 2 feasts, one after the month of Ramadan “month of fasting” called Eid- Al Fitr, and the other one is called Eid Al-Adha and it comes at the time of pilgrimage “Hajj”.
Feast prayer is one of the most beautiful gatherings that happens in Islam, where all Muslims men and women, children and adults, all gather in the place of prayer to celebrate Eid happily.
-All women can attend at the place of prayer celebrating Eid, but those who have their monthly blood period and cannot pray should stay behind when prayer is on as we know women in that case are exempt from prayer till they finish their monthly blood period and get cleaned from it by ritual bath “Ghusl”.
-Eid prayer should be done outside the mosques as a congregational prayer, but, in Mecca, it is better to pray Eid prayer at The Holy Mosque of Mecca.
-The time of Eid prayer is after the sunrises and usually every country declares its time to its Muslims.
How to pray Eid Prayer:-
-Eid prayer is a 2 rak’aa “unit” congregational prayer.
-The first rak’aa has six more takbeers “saying Allahu Akbar” after the one that opens the prayer.
-The second rak’aa has five more takbeers after the one that stands you up from the first rak’aa.
-It is Sunnah “meaning a teaching from the prophet PBUH” to recite chapter 87 Al-A’la from the Holy Quran in the first rak’aa and chapter 88 Al-Ghashia in the second rak’aa.
-It is Sunnah to go to Eid prayer on foot.
